        Charles McWHIRTER, Sr., born 1824 in Wilson County, Tennessee, son of (Charles and Nancy (GRIFFIN) McWHIRTER (See Chapter 1). He died after 21 Jul 1853 and before 1860.
    Charles married 1st to _________ PITTS about 1843, Wilson County, Tennessee. She died after 1845.
    Charles married 2nd to Sarah SOUTHERS/SOUTHARD 21 Jul 1853, Marion County, Illinois.
    Between 1844 and 1845, Charles and his first wife moved to Illinois between the birth of their first and second children.
    In 1850, Charles can not be found in any census record.
    In July 1853, Charles married 2nd in Marion County, Illinois.
